This illustration series is based on Otsuichi’s short story “Yuko.” It follows a young caretaker who begins to suspect that the woman she’s hired to care for might not actually exist. In this series, I used highly saturated cool tones and tight, claustrophobic compositions to reflect the spooky, surreal tone of the story.
